Where the Blessing boys learned to show up
David and Tyler grew up in a small Missouri town where sports, family, and hard work shaped a simple instinct: stay curious, do the work, and do not quit when the answer is difficult.
Two brothers. One question that changed everything.
We opened a personal training studio to help people become stronger. Then one client did everything right—and still hurt. That moment forced us to question what we thought we knew.
Brothers & Co-Founders
The founders’ story
Hear David and Tyler tell the story in their own words—from a small-town upbringing and their first studio to the client cases that sent them searching for a better answer.
How it started
The origin of Dr. Knot is not a story about having all the answers. It is a story about paying attention when the old answers stopped working.
Perryville
David and Tyler grew up in a small Missouri town where sports, family, and hard work shaped a simple instinct: stay curious, do the work, and do not quit when the answer is difficult.
2014
They moved to Cape Girardeau, emptied their savings, borrowed from family, and opened TNT Health & Fitness. They had determination—just not a business blueprint.
The first clue
Some clients became stronger and moved better. Others followed the same plan and still hurt. That contradiction would not let David and Tyler look away.
The pivot
They listened more carefully, studied movement, tested muscles, tracked sensitivity, and reassessed what changed. Real client work—not a boardroom—became the foundation of Dr. Knot.
The client who changed the direction
Brian lost 50 pounds and became stronger. But his lower back pain remained. The plan had worked on paper—yet it had not answered the question that mattered most to him. David and Tyler made a pact to keep looking until they better understood what they were missing.
What the studio taught us
Where someone feels pain may not be where the problem begins. The studio became a place to connect painful movements to likely muscle patterns, test what may be contributing, and measure what changed.
Start with the person’s pain experience and the movements that trigger it.
Narrow the possibilities instead of assuming the painful spot tells the whole story.
Measure what changed and let the body’s response guide the next step.
Why Dr. Knot exists
We help people with recurring lower back pain understand what may be contributing, identify their personal pattern, and take a practical next step with more confidence.
Learn why recurring pain may keep returning and what the painful location can—and cannot—tell you.
Connect movements, positions, and likely muscle contributors instead of continuing to guess.
Use the right guidance and tools, then reassess what changed and what to do next.
Still the Blessing boys
David and Tyler are brothers, personal trainers, and pain-relief specialists. More than a decade after opening their first studio, they still start the same way: listen closely, test the pattern, and help the person in front of them understand what to do next.
